Proverbs 31 Entrepreneur
You're
familiar with the woman of Proverbs 31, right? If not,
take a moment to about her
here.
At any rate, she was a very astute business woman, as
well as a loving wife and wise mother. This is the type
of woman I want to be for my Lord and for my Handsome
Hunk Erik.
After four years of teaching fifth graders, I was
completely burned out. You see, this was my first
attempt at teaching children. I had only taught adults
before.
As
a result of some Internet research, I decided to contact
one of the big Internet marketing coaches and get some
help setting up a website. That first endeavor—selling
gluten-free cooking DVDs—didn’t pan out so well because
it seems that people would rather buy yucky-tasting food
than cook it themselves—although for the life of me I
can’t imagine why.
Meanwhile, on my way to school each morning, I kept
hearing on the radio an ad for a home-based business.
Several times I went to the website, began to fill out
the form requesting more information, and closed the
site without sending the request for fear of getting
spammed. Finally, I said to myself, “Why not? You’re
looking for something else, right? Just give it a shot.”
So,
I filled out the form and got a call back from a
precious young woman in Colorado who has become a very
close friend.
That call changed my life.
When she told me what it was, I was disappointed. “An
Amway thing,” I thought to myself. “I can’t do that. I
can’t sell stuff. And besides, I don’t want to harass my
family and friends.”
But
the more we talked and the more research I did, I
changed my mind.
Yes, I became a Network Marketer.
Now, this was something brand new to me. Sure, I knew
what Amway was, but I had no idea that Avon, Mary Kay,
Tupperware, and Pampered Chef (owned by Warren Buffet,
by the way) were also in this industry. It would involve
learning a whole new set of skills. But I had learned
many new skills before and figured that I could do it if
I stuck with it and didn’t quit too soon.
There are two kinds of people in the world:
Those who choose to stick with the status quo and sail
with the prevailing winds of friends, family, and
society;
And those who are willing to take a different path in
order to live an extraordinary life.
You
might know someone who’s tried “one of those things” and
not done well. Perhaps you yourself gave it a shot and
tanked. You don’t have any friends left, and your family
avoids you like the plague.
If
you’re a disillusioned former network marketer, or
you’re still in but getting nowhere, then go

reasons many folks get stuck.
This business model is highly recommended by Robert
Kiyosaki (of Rich Dad Poor Dad fame) and Donald
Trump in their book Why We Want You to Be Rich.
It is also recommended by Paul Zane Pilzer, a renowned
economist and former advisor to presidents, in his book
The Next Millionaires. Many other well-known
business leaders promote this industry as a very sound
business model. Warren Buffet, the world's richest man,
owns Pampered Chef!
If you’re looking for way to make some

is the way to go.
-
You are your own boss.
-
There’s no inventory to invest in and start up costs
are low.
-
The income tax benefits are numerous. You could save
thousands in taxes each year.
-
You will learn some valuable life and leadership
skills.
-
Your friendship circle just might expand around the
country and even the world.
-
And the possibility for becoming financially
independent is very real for those who work
diligently and persistently.
What if by giving yourself a chance at
this, you were able to:
-
save enough money to send your kids to college
without taking out loans?
-
stay home with your children?
-
help your spouse to retire early?
-
give more to church or charities than you ever
imagined?
-
travel?
-
take that vacation you always dreamed of—every year
